We carry on with our series of gatherings under the headings of connection, values, and community.
Let’s begin with the etymology, in the classic style of Steven Hayes. Comunitas refers to resources that collectively belong to all of them. What is ours, the collective property of the ACT Romania community? What unites us, and how do we decide to safeguard that unity? What of our property can be shared at a conference with everyone who honors us by coming and being involved?
At times, even Steven Hayes has been known to assert that the greatest secret of all is that we all have one. A portion of this secret also stems from the fact that adding extra features to a schedule that would already require us to write “don’t schedule anything here” on our calendars can be a little frightening. We therefore take in your weariness, anxieties, homesickness, discomfort, and insecurity. And perhaps the occasional guilt of devoting too much of your time to sating your curiosity, perhaps at the expense of spending quality time with those closest to you. Our main goal is to build for you a secure environment where all of these are welcomed and valued.
We have lecturers from all over the world who can either enchant you even more or make you fall madly in love with ACT and CBS. To keep you informed about the latest findings in functional CBS, we will be hosting scientific communications seminars. As those who know us are well aware, we will not spare any fun, ensuring that each participant leaves the conference with a minimum of heartfelt moment and/or anecdote permanently ingrained in their memory.
We are eager to spend time together, learn, grow, laugh, be infected with passions, enjoy the chats with akward beginnings.
Want to participate?
The event is for all with an interest in contextual behavioral science (CBS) and acceptance and commitment therapy, FAP and RFT including students, clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals. Prior CBS/ACT/RFT knowledge and expertise are welcome but not necessary.
This is an on site event only
We will meet in person in Cluj. The programme for this year will consist primarily of practical workshops, lectures, and sessions with scientific papers. The events are scheduled in Hungarian, Romanian, and English. These will be split up into days, which will be revealed soon.
Venue
The Department of Applied Psychology at BABEȘ-BOLYAI UNIVERSITY (Strada Universității, Cluj-Napoca, Romania) will be hosting the event.
